Founded in Kuwait in 2000, Yalda began as a small workshop of master upholsterers and drapery artisans. Twenty-five years later, we remain a workshop at heart — only larger, and entrusted with the homes, majlis spaces, and commercial projects of a discerning clientele across the Gulf and beyond.
Every fabric is sourced. Every seam is hand-finished. Every space is its own commission.
Heirloom collections
Sourced from Italian mills, Belgian weavers, and traditional ateliers across Europe — fabrics for the long lifespan of a well-loved room.
Velluto
A library of Italian woven plains — twelve tones of stone, walnut and warm taupe, in linen, mohair, and silk velvet.
Sahra
Hand-loomed weaves in the colours of the Gulf at first light — sunrise terracotta, ochre, and shore sand.
Notte
A study in dusk — navy bouclé, charcoal herringbone, brown silk, and charred leather.
Oro
Silk-thread jacquards in champagne, brass and pale gold.

The collection

A clean low-profile sectional in raw Italian linen, with hand-rolled chocolate leather accent cushions and a sculpted walnut plinth base.
Made by the same hands
An eight thousand square metre workshop on the outskirts of Kuwait City. Every Yalda piece is framed, padded, upholstered, and finished by the same team — from kiln-dried plywood to final hand-stitch.
The Frame
Kiln-dried birch plywood, hand-cut, dovetailed, clamped, and assembled by a single carpenter per piece. We do not run an assembly line.
The Foundation
Traditional jute webbing on the seat, layered horsehair padding, hand-rolled edge — the same method our master upholsterers have used for forty years.
The Shape
Curved backs and arms are sculpted under hand — no production presses, no shortcuts. Every piece is signed and dated by its maker on the underside.
We don't outsource a single seam. It is faster to make it twice in the workshop than to send it elsewhere — and the result is always better.

A complete family commission for a private villa in Salwa — eleven months from first sketch to final styling. The brief: a contemporary Gulf home that could host fifty for a formal dinner and still feel intimate for a family of six. Twenty-four bespoke seats, a hand-carved gold-calligraphy console at the room's centre, motorised silk drapery throughout, and Calacatta marble flooring laid in a single uninterrupted plane.
